Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat Presented by Childsplay Theater

January 13, 2017

Jan. 14 – Feb. 19, 2017

After an incredibly successful run in 2014 and a record-breaking National Tour in 2015, Childsplay Theatre is bringing back Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat to the Tempe Center for the Arts stage.

“You can boil everything down to fun… simple and clear. The Cat wants to have fun. And so do we!” says The Cat in the Hat Director David Barker. “The show feels just as youthful and exhilarating as reading a Dr. Seuss book.”

Just like in the ever-so-famous book, from the moment the tall, red-and-white striped hat appears at their door, Sally and her brother know that the Cat in the Hat is the most mischievous cat they will ever meet. Suddenly a rainy afternoon is transformed by the Cat and his antics. Can the kids clean up before mom comes home? With some tricks (and a fish) and Thing Two and Thing One, with The Cat in The Hat, the fun’s never done!

Performances of The Cat in the Hat will be held at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, January 14 through February 19, 2017, Saturdays at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. Tickets start at $12 and are on sale now at www.childsplayaz.org or at the Tempe Center for the Arts Box Office (480) 350-2822 (ext. 2). The play is recommended for ages 3 and up.

The 1 p.m. performance on Saturday, January 14 is a special $12 Storybook Preview performance, sponsored by The Steele Foundation. Each family that attends this General Admission preview performance will receive a free book.
