If you are in the market for an adorable, family friendly movie you, then have to check out the IMAX of Island of Lemurs: Madagascar. I took my daughter in a mommy and me date to the movies and lunch and we made it through the entire movie! With a two year old, ya never know what will happen when you leave the home and she did a wonderful job (and I got to watch the movie). We aren't usually movie goers with her but she was glued to this movie!
We went to desert ridge to see the movie and it was an IMAX presentation which had us wearing our 3D glasses. The last time we went to a 3D movie we only made it a few minutes. The film quality was amazing and it felt like we were in the movie theater with lemurs! The quality of the film was great and I kept noticing my daughter reaching out to pet/grab the lemurs during the show. The show was around 45 minutes which was the perfect length for my daughter.
I love being able to listen to Morgan Freeman. He does a great job narrating this movie and the other people in the show do well with telling the story about what is going on with the Lemurs, their land, and their surroundings. The show was entertaining for kids and adults and I feel like I left having learned some information about lemurs! I liked that the show was educational for kids which makes it great for a family outing or a fun field trip for students! I also like that they didn't have "scary" parts that would require me covering my daughters eyes during the show! It seems like most movies have parts that scares my daughter and this film was done well for kids (and adults) of all ages. It was great being able to just sit and enjoy a show not having to worry about distracting my daughter or covering her eyes!
If you are looking for a fun family movie that will keep your children's interest, educate them, and entertain them, then this is a must see for the whole family!
