Big Surf

May 10, 2015
Once again, the original Waterpark and the original Food Bank join forces to help feed the hungry to kick off summer season

Big Surf Waterpark is offering 50 percent off of general admission during the first three weekends of May.  Each guest must bring in at least five non-perishable food items for St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance to receive the 50 percent off of general admission, which is normally priced at $29.95.  This will take place Saturday, May 16; and Sunday, May 17

“Summer is the most difficult time for food banks. The need for food increases just as donations decline sharply.” said Beverly Damore, President and CEO of St. Mary’s. “The food and funds we receive from Big Surf Waterpark make a huge impact in our efforts to feed kids, families and seniors through the long, hot summer.”
Last summer’s food collection at the waterpark netted 6,189 pounds of food and over $3,000 in donations.  This helped St. Mary’s Food Bank deliver 28,540 meals.
Beginning on May 2, Big Surf Waterpark is only open on Saturdays and Sundays through May 17.  The Waterpark is then open every single day from Saturday, May 23 through August 2.  Then it’s back to a Saturday and Sunday only schedule from August 8 through September 13, when the 2015 season concludes.
