Free Meals for Kids

offered by St. Mary's food bank

By Amanda Faber August 16, 2022

This summer thanks to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, meals will be provided for free to kids.  These meals are at the Kids Café free of charge to kids under 18 years old.  Different library locations have different meal days and times.  They are as follows-

Acacia Library
Monday through Friday from 12 to 1 p.m.

Burton Barr Central Library
Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon

Cholla Library
Monday through Friday from 12 to 1 p.m.

Desert Sage Library
Monday through Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.

Harmon Library
Monday through Saturday
Breakfast from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Lunch from 3 to 4 p.m. (Monday, Friday, Saturday)
Lunch from 4 to 5 p.m. (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Juniper Library
Monday through Saturday from noon to 1 p.m.

Yucca Library
Tuesday through Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m.

It is a first come first serve deal.  The meals are required to be eaten in the designated library space during the meal times.  Sorry folks, there are no to-go’s.  With the soaring cost of food lately I believe this to be a godsend to a lot of families.  If your kids are anything like mine, bottomless pits, getting out of the house and hanging out at the library with the kids for an hour or two to get a free meal is awesome!  I just want to say thank you to the libraries participating in this as well as St. Mary’s Food Bank for supplying the food!
